She was California’s first licensed female architect, whose accomplishments include the Hearst Castle at San Simeon, the rebuilding of the Fairmont Hotel, the Bell Tower at Mills College, and over 700 buildings and private homes. During her 45-year career, Julia Morgan designed many buildings for institutions serving women and girls.
